What to check
Look for offset across the crack, nearby diagonal cracking, wall movement, water staining, and changes over time. A stable shrinkage-related crack may be treated differently from a crack associated with settlement.
Repair considerations
Some cracks may be sealed or injected when appropriate. If the crack is part of a larger movement pattern, structural stabilization may be needed instead of or in addition to crack treatment.
